[B,L] Integration of the Java-Executorframework with Virtual Nodes

Sun came up with the Executor-Framework in Java 1.5. Because Virtual Nodes or better its predecessors where started earlier this handsome framework for executing tasks is not used in Virtual Nodes. Your task would be to replace the current handmade approach with the one provided by Suns API.

[M] Dynamic Migration of Byzantine Faulttolerant Protocols at runtime

We are currently investigating the dynamic migration of Byzantine Faulttolerant Protocols at runtime. Your task will be to find out how to migrate between 2 or 3 of the currently existing protocols. The focus is here to provide as less performance loss as possible while maintaining the very strong guarantees of Byzantine Faulttolerant Algorithms.
