Short Description:
BIFS is filing system for multiprocessor based systems, which provides a set of file models, sequential, indexed sequential and random access, together with a range associated operations. The files may have simple or structured record types. The filing sy stem has the ability to use one or more storage devices. The filing system is resident on a host processor and is connected to a communications shell. The current version of the shell takes the form of a simple packet switching scheme. The filing system i s resident on a part of the multiprocessor and operates in a busy waiting manner, scanning the user input channels for requests.
